We just got a new Cee Bailey's windshield (clear, but the thicker one) for our 172F and it was just $472, which is just slightly more than what I was quoted for my car. Of course, that was a big national chain of car-windshield installers, and I ended up paying about half of that at a local place that did it the same afternoon rather than in 3 weeks. The plane's windshield hasn't been installed yet but I know it's labor-intensive, so I expect a big bill when he does it in the fall.
