The price ($599 and up) remains the same, but the chip and RAM are upgraded.

Not everyone is excited about it...

Meanwhile, the old model get substantial discount:

Great, so how long before Foreflight makes us throw away our 2 year old models?
Foreflight didn't mind my 9 year old model. Only upgraded because battery life was heading down fast. Is Foreflight demanding more processing speed?

No, sorry, didn't mean to slam Foreflight specifically. I don't have any info as to new requirements. I'm just too old to keep up with the pace of upgrades (on any tech stuff, in general). And I really don't like the marketing model that "demands" shiny new stuff every few years, to the tune of hundreds or thousands of dollars, especially when the upgrades add bells and whistles of which I'll never use 90% of anyway. (Now you kids get off my lawn!)

I hear you. If it wasn't for keeping up with the kids/grandkids, I would still be using a flip phone. Yes, really, get off my lawn :)
