My wife and I would like to try exploring some of Oregon and would like to camp out next to our plane if/when possible. If any of you NorthWesterners are privy to any enjoyable airports in Oregon that allow camping could you pass along the info? I have already been into Manzanita, but not any others. We will be in a 59 172 with 0-360 upgrade. Thanx in advance.

Not Oregon, but Washington.
Orcas Island KORS, Eastsound. Camping at the Airport within walking distance into town ( 15-20 min ).
Expensive fuel but clean restrooms and a BBQ grill.

I'm part owner at Pine Hollow airport by Wamic, OR. Any Cessna 172 is welcome to camp on my property.

KBKE Baker City Oregon allows camping on the airport.

3W7 Electric City WA also allows camping on the airport.

LandsInn in eastern Oregon is on our list of places we want to go.

With your 180 hp if you plan for the right conditions Reds Horse Ranch or for plusher accommodations Minam River Lodge. Both of those are back country/mountain strips use caution.

Also a bit further east/north-east is Memaloose. High elevation and can be soft if too early in the season but amazing views and backcountry unimproved camping.

We also have a 1959, I would be really interested in talking to you/seeing your O-360 installation. Where are you based? We are in central WA at YKM.
