I saw this on another forum. If it has already been discussed her, I apologize in advance.

End of an era. Though they say it's not really ending, but moving to a new location, if they can find one.

Oh, drat. Ever since the bad accident into the ground, I feared this was coming. I always wanted to see it but never did.

Well, that's a shame.

My featured aircraft for April is a T-6 that's raced in several of those: (not my photo)

And I recently featured the King Air of the guy who's the current chairman, both of whom live in my neighborhood.

I've always wanted to go, and hearing that it would end (at Reno) pushed me over the edge. I got tickets several months ago for my son and myself so I'm all set. . . except. . .

Yesterday my wife tested positive for Covid. I tested negative but if I get it in the next few days, the quarantine period won't be over before time to go to the races.

If I can't go, I'd like for my son to be able to take a friend. Does anyone know if it's possible to transfer a plane ticket to someone else on short notice, without paying big bucks for a new last minute ticket?

About 25 years ago, I was at an event in Reno and the hosts gave us tickets to the Air Races. I wouldn't go again if I had to pay. The highlight for me was actually touching an F-117.

Well, the Reno Air Races have ended -- on a bad note, with two pilots killed after colliding while landing after the T-6 race:

"The Reno Air Racing Association identified the pilots as Nick Macy and Chris Rushing. Macy piloted Six-Cat and Rushing flew Baron’s Revenge."

Very sad. I was at the races Wednesday through Sunday. The airline changed my flight time to 1-1/2 hours earlier than originally scheduled so I had to leave at 2:00 Sunday -- just 15 minutes before the crash. I'm glad I missed it.

A friend here had to delay his trip to Reno because he was doing a memorial flight with the Condor Squadron for one of the members of the Condor Squadron, who crashed his twin in Santa Fe in mid July. Rushing was also a Condor Squadron member.
