This is a pretty interesting story. Since it has a bunch of video, I really suspected that it wasn't real. Who knew they had video cameras back then??? But, evidently, it's real. She was the 4th woman to get a pilot's license and did 300+ transfers from one plane to another in mid-air.

I just looked up Gladys Ingle. Evidently, this tire replacement was a stunt that she'd do regularly. :)

Wikipedia says Gladys Ingle died peacefully at her daughter's home at age 82. Not bad for someone who raced motorcycles, performed in an aerial circus, parachuted out of balloons, survived a few forced landings & crashes, and wing-walked from one aircraft to another in flight more than 300 times. And that is just a summary of highlights. Now there is someone I would have really enjoyed meeting! Makes me feel like I was born about half a century too late.

Agreed! :)

That certainly is amazing! What a performance! Nerves of steel
